The 5 Worst Diets You Should Never Follow

We all know that dieting is hard. It takes a lot of willpower and dedication to stick to a strict diet for any length of time. But, it’s not always easy to know which diets are worth following and which ones are just flat out terrible. The worst diet is one that does not have any scientific evidence to support it. This article will discuss the five worst diets you should never follow as well as what makes them so bad.

1. The Whole30 Diet

Opening the list of worst diets is the The Whole30 diet which is a strict, elimination-only diet that claims to help with weight loss and disease prevention. It restricts all types of food groups to 30 different foods, including grains, dairy, sugar and alcohol; so it’s basically the Paleo diet without any sweets or fruit in sight.

Though the diet aims to prevent disease and obesity, it doesn’t really offer much in the way of weight loss. The Whole30 requires a lot of willpower to stick to, and its not sustainable for any length of time.

2. The Dukan Diet

The Dukan Diet is a high protein, low carbohydrate diet that claims to help with weight loss by promoting satiety and protein sparing. However, it’s not exactly the most sustainable diet either. The Dukan Diet has a high protein requirement which can lead to some serious muscle loss, so this isn’t a diet you want to try for very long and that’s why it made our list of 5 worst diets to avoid.

The Grapefruit Diet is “still” another popular diet used worldwide.

3. The Grapefruit Diet

This diet involves eating grapefruit for breakfast, lunch and dinner for three days straight. And then you go back to your normal eating habits for four days before starting the cycle again. This diet is not sustainable because it’s too restrictive and there’s no variety in what you’re eating.

4. The DASH Diet

This diet has been around for decades and is high in fiber, calcium and potassium. The DASH Diet recommends four servings of fruits and vegetables daily, eight ounces of low-fat or skim milk or yogurt during the day, low-fat or skim cheese two times a day. Due to the limited calorie intake this diet could leave you hungry and it is considered by many one of the worst diets.

5. The Atkins Diet

The Atkins Diet is another popular way for people to try and lose weight, but instead of going low-carb, Atkins Dieters eat high-protein and very low-carb meals. . There are many different variations of the Atkins Diet, but the basic idea is to avoid carbohydrates and increase the amount of protein you’re eating. Some popular foods on the Atkins Diet are meat, eggs, low-carb vegetables, cheese, and nuts. Atkins Dieters eat more protein-rich food than their low-carb counterparts like Paleo Dieters

Conclusion

There are so many different diets that one can go on forever and fill out this blog with them. Some of them are good, while others are not. We should avoid the above mentioned 5 worst diets because they will not provide the necessary nutrients that our body needs. For example, a diet that is low in carbs will cause your body to crave more carbs and sugar because it’s deprived of them.
